The interim symposium for “Atmospheric PM2.5 Pollution in China and its control countermeasure” was held successfully in Beijing on 23th March, 2013. This project was sponsored by Chinese Academy of Sciences and the symposium was organized by Institute of Earth Environment, CAS. There are more than 30 experts attending the symposium, including AcademicianDahe Qin, Academician Ronghui Huang, Academician Weijian Zhou, Academician Guibin Jiang, Academician Guangyu Shi, Academician Xiaoyan Tang. Academician Zhisheng An from IEECAS presided over the meeting.
The experts gave their research report on the PM2.5 pollution, its formation and control methods in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Nanjing, Chongqing, Chengdu and Xi’an, and discussed what reason leads the heavy atmospheric pollution in China. An atmospheric environment survey plan was made in the meeting, in order to promote solving the PM2.5 pollution in China.
